52 books, 52 weeks & little i

Little I has entered the ‘copy cat’ phase.

I sip my chai from a cup.
She pretends to sip her’s from a box of blocks.

We laugh at a joke.
She laughs after 5 seconds.

I take a deep breath after I finish cooking.
She takes a deep breath after scattering her toys.

The maid cleans the floor with a soapy liquid.
Little I cleans the floor with Garnier astringent.

So, now it’s time to up my game.

Luckily, she hasn’t discovered the TV yet. I am sure one day she will.

But before she copies me and reaches out for the remote and demands to switch on the TV, I need to switch off and open a book.

So, starting Monday, 28th April 2014 I will be taking up a daunting task of reading 52 books in 52 weeks.

I am hoping this reading marathon will be fulfilling and I won’t regret little I copying every bit of it.

This task is a big deal for me.
Because I am a slow reader and little I is a hurricane.

It’s going to be interesting to see how I will manage to finish a book when I don’t even get a minute to myself sometimes.

But I want to do this.
For myself, for little I.

I am going to read one book every week, for 52 weeks.

Thick books, thin books.
Books about stars, about ads, about food, about life, about children.
Short stories, never-ending stories, true stories, funny stories.

At the end of the week, I will post about how I managed to finish the book.

This mega read will end on April 28th, 2015 with hopefully 52 interesting books and posts.

If you have any book recommendations please do share.

If you want to know how I am coping, you can follow this blog.

Don’t forget to write in a few words of encouragement every now and then on the blog so that I know there is someone out there too who wants me to finish this reading marathon.
